May 12, 2014, Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps was recognized by the City of Peekskill at its Peekskill City Council Meeting for serving the community of Peekskill for 50 Years.

Proclamation.
WHEREAS the Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps was organized an incorporated in July 1964, now serving the community for 50 years; and WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating PCVAC 50th Anniversary and Emergency Medical Services Week; and NOW, THEREFORE, I Frank A. Catalina, Mayor of the City of Peekskill, in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of May 18-24, 2014, as EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK.
